History

Meldrum Academy was opened in 2002, a completely new Secondary School to cater for the needs of the growing village of Oldmeldrum and surrounding areas, and to relieve the strain at the time on Ellon and Inverurie Academies.

An initial intake of 339 S1 and S2 pupils in August 2002, has now grown to a roll of around 960 across S1 to S6, with pupils coming to Meldrum Academy from one of our 12 feeder primaries across the area.

Built under the PFI model, the school was constructed at a cost of £21m as part of a wider Aberdeenshire Council project, and is managed in partnership with Robertson FM.
