Parental Communication

Meldrum Academy is committed to effective, and timely, two-way communication with parents. This may be face to face, or via telephone, email, text message or letter.          

Aberdeenshire Council has recently invested in a new communications tool, which will allow us to communicate more effectively with parents/carers via personalised emails and text messages, as well as via a mobile app, Groupcall Xpressions.

Xpressions will allow you to stay informed about your children’s school progress anytime, anywhere. If you have more than one child at different Aberdeenshire schools you’ll even be able to view information for all children from within the same app. The app will display your own personal timeline, showing updates about both your child and the school in general.

To start using the app, download it via Google Play for Android or the App Store for Apple and then follow the instructions to enter your email address and mobile phone number. For verification purposes, these details will need to match those that the school has on file for you – if you need to update these please contact the school.

This system is a key part of our communications strategy which aims to improve communication with parents/carers, and enhance our engagement with the whole school community.
