At Meldrum Academy we use our pupils’ baseline information, course performance, prelim performance and course predictions to ensure that they are benefiting from high quality learning and teaching. The information enables us to give more detailed information to families about individual pupil progress.

As early as possible before the start of the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) exams, we use tracking and monitoring information to identify a group of S4 pupils who we feel could do with additional input.

The increased support offered to pupils under our Pupil Attainment Support Strategies (PASS) initiative involves appointing a mentor from our teaching staff to meet with pupils to provide them support with revision strategies, organisational skills and study techniques in the run up to SQA examinations. Involvement from both staff and pupils is on a voluntary basis and results for the 20 to 30 students involved each year are very positive.
